Across New York City, Day 7 of the 2025 Tribeca Festival continued to deliver another great day of film premieres, fun and informative conversations, and a great lineup of industry professionals. The OKX Theater at BMCC welcomed legendary rockstar Billy Idol and director and Grammy Award-winner Jonas Åkerlund for the world premiere of the new music documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead. The screening was followed by an intimate performance from Idol.

Orlando Bloom, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Nick Mohammed stopped by for the international premiere of their exciting action comedy Deep Cover.

The highly-anticipated world premiere of thriller-mystery series We Were Liars (based on the best-selling novel by E. Lockhart) took place at the School of Visual Arts theater in Chelsea. Stars Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer, Candice King, Rahul Kohli, Emily Alyn Lind, Esther McGregor, Shubham Maheshwari, and David Morse, were in attendance.
Gloria Steinem was in person for the world premiere of Dear Ms.: A Revolution in Print, a new documentary about the inspiring legacy of Ms. magazine and its meaningful impact on the lives and perception of women over the past 50+ years.
Darren Aronofsky, Ellen Burstyn, and Tribeca CEO and Co-Founder Jane Rosenthal were present for the 25th Anniversary of Requiem For A Dream, where the Commissioner of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment Pat Swinney Kaufman presented Aronofsky with the ‘Made in NY’ award to celebrate his significant contribution to the city’s media and entertainment industry. The screening was followed by a conversation moderated by actor Brendan Fraser, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his role in Aronofsky’s 2022 film, The Whale.
The festival’s Audio Storytelling program kicked off at The Indeed Theater at Spring Studios with a live taping of This American Life, hosted by public radio personality Ira Glass and special guest co-host Ira Madison III. The two personalities took the audience on a fun and informative tour through many highlights from the popular radio show’s 30 years on the air.

Finally, the world premiere of Raoul’s, A New York Story brought the legacy of the iconic Soho French bistro to life at the Village East by Angelika, with directors Greg Olliver and Karim Raoul in attendance to introduce the Raoul family story to the world.
